welcome
The KwaZulu-Natal Cerebral Palsy Association is a registered welfare organisation which
strives to enhance the welfare and functional independence of the Cerebral Palsied.
Established in 1969, we are extremely fortunate and proud that our Association has,
during its 42 years of existence, managed to remain unsubsidised by the Government
and is self-reliant, mainly due to generous donations from the public as well as our
own fundraising endeavours.
The KwaZulu-Natal Cerebral Palsy Association is Sponsoring Body of five facilities
in KwaZulu-Natal for persons with Cerebral Palsy. We provide education, training where
education is not possible, day-care and residential care.
No stone is left unturned to continue our support, both financially and in kind, to:
|
The Browns' School (est. 1969)
The school traditionally catered for cerebral palsy learners but now includes learning disabled, attention deficit, delayed language development, syndrome affected and autistic learners.
|
Pevensey Place (est. 1970)
A functional farm, situated in the Underberg area, where Cerebral Palsied adults live and work.
|
|
C.R.E.S.T. (est. 1987)
A day-care centre for the post-school age disabled who are unemployable. Qualified supervisory care is provided
five days a week so that members may interact socially and families are afforded some relief from the often-exacting
pressures of continual care of the disabled. It is hoped to expand services so that, finally, full live-in facilities can be offered.
|
Reunion School (est. 1994)
The only school in the world where Cerebral Palsied children receive education and therapy in their mother tongue, Zulu.
|
|
C.W.A.C. (est. 1996)
(Children With A Challenge) is our centre for young children with Cerebral Palsy who need
maintenance therapy and specialised care. These children are ineducable and are unable to attend any of our schools.
